StarBabies:
|
Our StarBabies is a fun parent participation class with a strong emphasis on socialization skills, motor skills and group involvement. The class is centered around age appropriate developmental movements using special toddler size equipment. |
|
StarLites:
|
This is a class that is also a parent participation class that is intended to help kids transition smoothly to the next class which is on their own. The class is very similar to our Star Babies, only with bigger challenges and a little more directive instruction. In the StarLites class we will not only develop more gymnastic skills through the use of our obstacle course and other equipment, they will be learning important social skills such as listening, following directions and communicating with their peers. |
|
StarBrite:
|
This class is designed for children to develop their skills in a non-parent participation class. Children will further expand their gymnastics, listening, and learning skills. Children will use obstacle courses, and age appropriate cooperative games. |
|
Rainbow Stars:
|
This class is carefully designed to help children move from our preschool program to our recreational program. Children will learn more complex gymnastics skills and will be introduced to our recreational curriculum. Children in this class will use more complex obstacle courses, start to be exposed to the different gymnastics apparatus (such as; beams, bars and vault) and more advanced floor skills. |
Keep First Things First When Raising Kids:
Child Development experts know; for preschoolers, acquiring a healthy learning attitude is far more important than the mastery of specific skills. Please compare: All Star's StarBurst is not like less sophisticated preschool gymnastics programs. The StarBurst Curriculum is carefully designed for exactly what children need most during these formative years. In StarBurst gymnastics skills are used as tools to teach learning attitudes while skill mastery is a secondary goal. At All Star's we keep first things first...The Kids!
FUN is far more than meets the eye!
One of the objectives of StarBurst is FUN! Of course, this is cool with the kids, but parents sometimes
don't always
realize the importance of fun in a learning setting, especially for preschoolers. Adults often
feel that when fun is present, learning is not. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Why is fun so
important? All well - adjusted, life long learners at some point during their formative years formed a
subconscious association when presented with a learning situation approximating: Challenge = Risk =
Learning = fun & excitement! On other words, a challenge is worthy of my best effort in and of itself.
The value of this association becomes even more apparent when inspecting the opposite association that is
prevalent in today's teenagers and young adults: Challenge = risk = failure = fear & anxiety. For a
person possessing this negative association the pain of possible failure is simply not worth the risk.
This person then learns to insulate themselves from their fear and anxiety by creative, clever excuses
and displaying apathetic attitudes about "trying" such as: "who cares?" or, "why should I even bother to
try, I'll never be able to get it anyway". O.K...now that you know a little more about the substance of
StarBurst we have a favor to ask. SHHHH!...Don't tell the kids: They think StarBurst is just pure FUN!
